A Late-Morning Puppy Yoga Break for the Mila Team in Montréal

In February 2026, the team at Mila, the Quebec AI Institute, set aside the hour from 11 AM to noon for something a little different: a private puppy yoga session with Pups&Yoga in Montréal. It was a short, simple break planned for the people behind the work, and a good example of how a single hour can fit into a busy research calendar without disrupting the rest of the day.

A late-morning pause for a research team

Mila brings together people who spend long stretches of focused time on demanding problems. A late-morning slot is a smart choice for that kind of team: it lands after the first block of deep work and just before lunch, so nobody has to stay late or cut an afternoon meeting short. For a private booking, the timing is entirely up to the organisation, and many teams pick exactly this kind of window so the activity feels like a breather rather than one more commitment.

What a private puppy yoga hour looks like

Every private Puppy Yoga class follows the same easy rhythm. The first thirty minutes or so are a gentle, all-levels yoga flow led by a certified instructor, so it does not matter whether someone practises every week or has never unrolled a mat. Then the puppies join the room and roam freely while the class continues for roughly another fifteen minutes. The last part of the hour is set aside for cuddles and photos.

Behind the scenes, we take care of everything: the puppies, the mats, the playpens, the supplies, the set-up and the clean-up. Our hostesses supervise every interaction, and the puppies, who come from the breeders and trusted rescue partners we work with, get breaks, water and rest throughout. Puppy welfare always comes first, which is also what keeps the atmosphere calm for everyone in the room.

Why teams like Mila book a session

Organisations usually come to us for one of a few reasons: a team-building moment, an employee wellness day, a thank-you after a demanding project, or simply a way to get colleagues in the same room without screens. Puppy yoga works well for all of these because it asks nothing of participants except to show up. There is no competition, no skill to master and no preparation, and the format adapts to the group. A class welcomes up to about 20 to 25 people, and larger teams are split into several classes with short puppy breaks in between.

Sessions can take place at our studio or at your own venue, whether that is an office, a campus or a hotel.
